Seize Your Season

To everything there is a season,
A time for every purpose under heaven.
Ecclesiates 3:1

Article by: Reita Atkinson Ball

Season in Hebrew is zeman, an appointed time! When your season comes along, those things you used to have to struggle to accomplish happen almost effortlessly! A woman experiences many different seasons during the course of her life. It is important to realize that with every new season comes the closing of the previous one. However, our seasonal relationship with God is seamless. What we learn in each season of our life can apply to all seasons:

What season are you in?

You may be in the winter season of raising your children but you may have recently remarried and your intimate relationship may be in spring! Your career may be in summer.

There are different rules for each season! Someone has said, “It is not enough for a gardener to love flowers; he must also hate weeds.”

Spring is a season of anticipation. It is a time of renewal and refreshing.

spring ... New beginnings ... Time of passion ... Season of developing ... Exciting and new ... Beautiful and forceful ... Time to work fast and hard ... Requires care and grooming

Whatever happens in a spring season must be trained and disciplined to maturity.

Our life is like a garden, a gift from God that requires attention. Gardens require planting, sunlight, water and weeding! The time we spend in His presence provides the needed nourishment.

Summer ... Time of nesting ... Nurturing ... Blazing hot era ... Time of stability ... Breaking-forth time ... Possess a level of consistency ... Earned a few stripes, a few bruises ... Confidence ... Your life has been established and identified, labeled and classified ... A time of Increase ... A time of mul.25tiplication ... Lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes [Isaiah 54:2] ... A time of reaping from your spring season! (good and bad) ... Much is being given to you — much is required! ... You have acquired some things

The summer season brings hazards as well as happiness. Summer is a season of maturity — a time to appreciate the trials of the past and a moving forward because we have learned from them. Someone said, “A gem cannot be polished without friction, neither perfected without trials.”

The season of trials come to mold, shape and teach us.

Autumn... Fall, a time of harvesting ... Maturing ... Reflection ... Recognize endurance and strength ... Adjusted your expectations ... A Time of calmness ... Not easily rattled by life — been there and done that! ... Reaping benefits of longevity ... Working smarter and not harder ... Know now what you wish you had known then ... Realize that all you have gathered will be passed on to someone else ... Realize that success is not complete without a successor!
